As a college senior, I am able to look back on my college experience in its totality and one thing stands out from everything elsse: my involvement with the College Republicans. Although a member of the St. Thomas College Republicans since my freshman year, I consider myself a bit of a late bloomer in my involvement with the larger statewide organization. During my sophomore year I was able to help out with the Minnesota Caucus results and went to CPAC a few days later. I had a great time on that trip, met a lot of great College Republicans, and was hooked. I knew that this was an organization that I wanted to put more time into. Subsequently, I ran for chapter chair at St. Thomas a few months later, and the rest is history.
I was afforded the opportunity to lead the Minnesota federation when I was elected in April of 2013 and it is truly an honor to serve in this capacity. I get to meet some of the most interesting people in Minnesota politics, get to attend some great events such as CPAC, help with field and local campaigns, work with the College Republican National Committee, and share these moments with people that have similar interests as myself. You do not need to be a political science major to enjoy being a College Republicans - there are opportunities for everyone. I highly encourage you all to get involved in this organization - the opportunities and the people are great and I will sure miss it when it is done. I know that some of the friends I have made will be some of my best friends for the rest of my life and that this organization has prepared me to be an effective activist in state politics. So, don't wait - get involved! I can assure that it will be the "time of your life."
